Frequently asked questions

What is a country calling code?

A country calling code is the prefix, up to three digits, that you dial to reach a phone number in another country. It is written with a plus sign in front, for example +44.

How do I dial an international number?

Dial your country’s international access code (or press + on a mobile phone), then the country calling code, then the local number without its leading zero, if it has one.

Why do several countries share +1?

The United States, Canada and many Caribbean countries share one numbering plan, so they use the same country code and are told apart by their area codes.
